The State Attorney's Office in conjunction with Court Options has
implemented a diversion program for certain criminal traffic offenses.
At arraignment, defendants who qualify for diversion based upon the State
Attorney's Office criteria will be given the option of entering the diversion
program to have their criminal traffic case nolle prossed once they have
completed the necessary requirements.
The Traffic Diversion Program will also assist defendants in obtaining a valid
driver's license. Defendants have the ability to enter into payment programs and
or the drive legal program, in order to obtain a valid driver's license immediately
after registering into these programs. Traffic Diversion program participants can
also attend one of the free workshops offered by Court Options.
